Chalk pastels

Some of the children in Kakabeak Whanau chose to create a self portrait using chalk pastels. It was great fun learning to use a different material (chalk pastels smudge and are quite messy). 

On one side of the face are all the hot colours and on the other side are all the cool colours. 

We know colours are hot because the sun is hot and is made up of all the hot colours and water is cold and is made up of all the cool colours.

Working Together

Kakabeak Whanau all worked well together today when playing with the parachute. We worked out that when we all worked together we could make the parachute do lots of different things. We made balls shoot up in the air, the parachute fly in the air and we tried to catch it again and we could all hide under the parachute together. 

We are going to have a fantastic year working together and supporting each other.
